Be the light that helps others see

Good Day! :) I'm Myca N. Taguines, currently studying Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education.  When I was young, being a teacher is one of my dream profession simply because I want to teach children how to read and write. Until my sister who is an Occupational Therapist, opened my mind and heart to children with special needs and that's the reason why I chose Special Education. Like her, I want to become an instrument of God to help children with special needs to achieve autonomy and become productive individual in our society. 

My journey to become a Special Education teacher changes the way I perceive things around me. It helps me to understand that we are all different yet we are the same in the eyes of our creator. It makes me a person with patience, understanding, caring and loving heart. I believe that we have differences that make us unique. Now, I understand the real meaning of life.

I choose light (lumière in french) to describe myself because I want to give light and hope to people around me. I want to share my light especially to those children with special needs because I want them to see the brighter side of life, and focus on their strengths rather than their weaknesses.
